Choose the Right Sylvania LED Bulb
The world is going green and so are LED lights. A new way to help the environment while saving money on energy costs. But can some of these bulbs work with your existing fixtures? How do you know which one’s compatible? Here’s a guide on what to keep in mind when picking a bulb:
Sylvania offers four different brightness options; 400, 800, 1,100 and 1,600 lumens. The higher the number, the brighter it is (and uses more watts). If you’re looking for an intense light source (similar to natural light), you’ll want to go with the highest option or brighter.
1,600-lumen equivalent – Brightest color rendering with most lumens per watt
800-lumen equivalent – Bright white light with highest color rendering and most lumens per watt
400-lumen equivalent – Medium soft white light and the best for hallways, bedrooms, and workplaces
1,100-lumen equivalent – Warm White light with high color rendering and the lowest lumens per watt.
Color Rendering Index Rating (CRI)
Measures how accurate colors appear under the bulb’s glow. This rating is between 0-100, so you want to aim for a higher number on this scale. A CRI # of 80 or higher is preferred since it can render colors fairly accurately compared to natural lighting conditions. Sylvania LED bulbs come equipped with a Color Rendering Index (CRI) rating above 80 and an Energy Star rating.
Efficiency (Lumens per Watt)
The higher this number, the more efficient it is. It’s not always about picking a bulb with the highest Lumens because wattage used impacts the price you’ll have to pay for each year of operation. Bulbs with high lumens to watts ratio are usually better values for your money since they’ll last much longer than other brands. So if you plan on keeping that light fixture or lamp around for a while, then go with a LED that uses less energy but offers more lumen output. Available Products
